Polymarket Safe wallet
A Polymarket Safe wallet is a Gnosis Safe smart wallet that Polymarket pre-deploys for a user. On Polymarket this wallet type is one of the default options alongside the Proxy wallet; it appears as the user's on-chain wallet address and is ready to receive and hold pUSD and CTF outcome tokens without an extra wallet-deployment step.
In context
On Polymarket, wallets take one of two common forms: a pre-deployed Gnosis Safe (the Safe wallet) or an on-demand Proxy wallet that is auto-deployed the first time you transact. The Safe wallet is useful when Polymarket or a third party has already created a Gnosis Safe for you; because it exists before your first interaction, there is no initial on-chain deployment during your first trade. As with all Polymarket activity, gas is sponsored through the Relayer and trades settle in pUSD on Polygon.
Operational notes
- The Safe wallet is a standard Gnosis Safe smart contract; it interoperates with Polymarket's Relayer and the CTF-based outcome tokens.
- Users will see the Safe wallet address when connecting an external signer. If a Safe has been pre-provisioned for you, you do not need the Proxy deployment flow.
- Functionally, the Safe wallet holds pUSD and ERC-1155 CTF tokens (outcome shares) like any other supported wallet on Polymarket.
